Use the remote control to turn the unit off.

Slide the indoor unit off of its mounting brackets and use a screwdriver or power drill to remove the screws securing the mount.

Disconnect the copper tubing from the port at the rear of the indoor unit. This tubing connects the two units and funnels the coolant.

Locate the outdoor unit and remove the copper tubing from the port at the rear of the outdoor unit.

Slide the copper tubing out of the small opening that leads into the indoor area.

Unplug the outdoor unit from its power source, and set both it and the indoor unit aside.
