DIY Solar Absorption Cooler

Solar energy is an increasingly popular way to cut energy costs, cool off houses and protect the environment due to it's reliability and carbon-free efficiency. Solar absorption cooling harnesses the power of the sun to provide air conditioning and cooling fan power much like traditional energy. Building a solar absorption cooler can be done using basic materials, yet the benefits can be enormous. Solar cooling can lower your energy bills while protecting the Earth's natural resources and environment at the same time.

Instructions

Locate the best position for the solar cooling unit, ideally by a window. Place the fan or air conditioner in your house adjacent to the chosen location.

Dig approximately six feet into the ground.

Wind copper tubing around the fan, forming a spiral. Secure to to the grills of the fan using cable ties or zip ties.

Install a circulation pump by the fan or air conditioner. Connect it to the fan or air conditioner and hook it up to the battery.

Mount the solar panel on your roof and secure it firmly. Connect it to the battery and power inverter.

Activate the solar absorption cooler by turning on the battery.
