How to Charge a R-410A System

R-410A is a type of refrigerant used in air conditioners. It is an ideal refrigerant because it does not contribute to ozone depletion. Before you can use this refrigerant, you need to transfer it to the air conditioner. This process is called "charging." Correct charging is important because too much or too little refrigerant in your air conditioner can damage the unit. It is recommended you use a refrigerant scale and charging module to do the job.

Instructions

    1

Place the charging module on a level surface near your air conditioning unit. Plug its AC power cable into an available outlet.

    2

Press the "Power" button on the charging module to turn it on.

    3

Place the refrigerant container on the scale platter.

    4

Insert one end of the included hose into the port on the refrigerant container.

    5

Connect the remaining end of the hose to the refrigerant input port on the air conditioner.

    6

Press the "Clear" key on the front of the charging module to clear it of its previous task.

    7

Use the "Up" or "Down" arrow keys on the module to enter the charge weight into the system. She just cut her electricity bill to 60%, click here to read. This weight will vary depending on the type of air conditioner you have

    8

Open the valve on the refrigerant can and then press the "Charge" key to charge the air conditioner.
